#1) You have everything to gain & nothing to lose. You will lose way more by not striving for success.
Your choices and energy are always directed towards something, this is constantly happening whether you like it or not. This is why you must strive for success with bipolar.
It takes the same amount of energy to think about saving $1 as it does to think about making $1000.
Plotting a course towards success is just as easy as plotting a course towards failure.
Decide to strive for greatness and set your sails accordingly – yes it is a decision and yes its an easy one.
Everyone thinks about “success” differently; you will have to decide what it is for yourself BUT aim higher and watch out for the dangers of complacency and meritocracy.
#2) We have a condition that is both a blessing and a curse. You can choose to harness the blessings or you can choose to let the curses get in the way. Make the right Choice.
Everyone has genetic traits that are both good an bad for certain situations.
NBA players use their massive height to their advantage on the basketball court but they will never be allowed to pilot commercial aircraft professionally.
Fish breath underwater but die on land and that pot plant you forgot to water died but boy would it have looked fantastic with a little care and nutrients.
We are the same. While some traits have their obvious uses, others need to be harnessed with care.
Chances are, you could have an amazing capacity for creativity as this is common in people with bipolar – you just need to figure out what it is you need to create. I’ve made my choice. I choose to create success with my bipolar.
I choose the blessing and I’ll give my body and brain what it needs to be healthy and excel.
#3) You offer a unique perspective.
Some of the most successful people on the planet started out with circumstances that were tough; they shaped them in ways that made these people unique and able to offer the world something no one else could.
Have you ever heard someone say they found a ‘Diamond in the rough’ – it sounds like they found something special in a place where nothing else is special; WRONG.
Diamonds are formed 90 miles below the earths crust with a temperature of at least 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit (1,050 degrees Celsius). They are formed BY the rough – that’s where you go to find them.
Some of your trials and tribulations are blessings in disguise but you will not know it until later.
Use your unique story and view of the world to make it better, leverage your hardships and turn them into motivation; energy can be and always is converted from one type to another and that is why you must divert it to a positive direction.
#4) Success will make you learn and grow.
To find success you must learn to embrace discipline and sacrifice.
More than anything else self control and delayed gratification can let you achieve things you previously only dreamed about.
Want to make your first million? learn a difficult skill? get super fit? These things will take grit and that’s the best part.
Hard work is satisfying, it lets you sleep better at night and it gives you purpose – people will want to know how you did it? what was the secret? The secret is in plain sight – its called no more excuses and get to work.
#5) If you start a family they will rely on you; you need the strength and tools you’ve cultivated to support them.
Nurture your family, friends and loved ones the right way and they will become your biggest supporters.
If you have bipolar disorder a well functioning support network is a massive asset and something you should cultivate.
You cant do this if you don’t have control over yourself. You must become a role model and while times are good you should make the most of them, of course you will do everything you can to avoid getting into problematic states or situations but we are human and it can happen.
Strive for the best but plan for the worst and cover all bases – If your good times set yourself up so your still ahead if you run into issues your still winning.
The goal is to maximize your upside and reduce your downside; this is what smart investors do – minimize risk but maximize the returns.
We are no different with our health. Look after yourself and you can look after those around you. If you can survive you can thrive so keep your eyes on the indicators and make adjustments where necessary.
#6) Some people will never accept you for who you are; they will find your condition hard to understand and they wont want to associate with you. Good.
You don’t want these people anywhere near you and the best thing you can do is get revenge. Yeah I said it, revenge.
You must find success with bipolar.
Gain revenge through success – let these people watch you build an amazing life, success is always the best revenge. Work hard and find momentum.
Success is a dish best served COLD.
#7) Life is truly amazing; living is a gift and its one you should never squander.
Time is precious and its the most valuable asset you have BY FAR.
Once you learn to make good money you’ll understand that making money is actually easy.
Money can always be made as MJ DeMarco said in his masterpiece ‘The Millionaire Fastlane’ “We are born rich (with a full tank of gas) and will die broke. Time is the great equalizer. There are no filling stations for time – your one fill-up occurred the moment you took your first breath.” and he nailed it.
Find what and who you love, build or create something and keep yourself healthy. There is so much out there to enjoy and share – when you have the right attitude & appreciate this you’ll find experiences that you are truly grateful for.
Make the most of it by striving for success in health, wealth and relationships; live your life richly.
#8) There is no other option you must create success with bipolar.
Life can be cruel and unforgiving, even people without any illness can struggle when they don’t pay attention to the right things and make the right choices.
In an odd way your illness will force you to stick to very healthy habits and this will give you an advantage because you MUST stick to good habits or there are consequences.
Normal people don’t have the same ramifications and its easy for them to have poor habits.
We are not normal and therefore we must strive for success with bipolar.
If you don’t keep your house clean soon you’ll live in a pigsty, all it takes is a little regular effort and your house looks great – you have space and your mind is clear, it feels comfortable and you feel great.
Little amounts of effort and some lessons along the way make a dramatic difference. The sooner you start good habits the further you’ll find yourself down the road you want to be down instead of another desolate destination fraught with risks – no one genuinely wants or strives for a life of misery; they just inherit or create bad habits along the way and fail to correct them.
Don’t be that person – remember you are aiming for the most success you can imagine and nothing less (in whatever you aim for).
Okay where do I start if I want to create success with bipolar?
Easy start here.
